Vinita Mathreja — Founder & Editor, WhatTheWeb
Hi, I’m Vinita Mathreja.
I turn AI from intimidating to intuitive, one plain-English guide at a time.
I founded and edit WhatTheWeb, an independent publication from Mumbai built on one simple belief: AI should feel like child’s play, not a computer-science exam. I write for builders, marketers and creators who want to put AI to work in their real jobs, rather than scroll past another headline about it.
Most of what I publish starts as an experiment. I test new AI tools, rewrite prompts until they behave, and vibe-code small apps to see how far an idea can go in an afternoon. Whatever works (and whatever spectacularly doesn’t) becomes a guide, so you can skip the trial and error and get straight to the good part.
What I do
My work splits into three things, and each one feeds the next.
First, I write. Every week I publish plain-English guides on prompt engineering, AI video, vibe coding and answer engine optimization — the craft of getting your pages cited by ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity rather than buried on page two of Google.
Second, I build. I vibe-code small apps to find out how far one idea travels in an afternoon. Snap-Strip, my photo-strip camera app, sits in App Store review right now, while Second Brain — a copywriting tool that turns a single keyword into thirty usable content angles — is in design. Because I ship these myself, my guides come from what actually broke, not from a press release.
Third, I consult. Clients bring me in for AI content and editorial strategy, SEO and AEO audits, and AI agent workflows that quietly strip busywork out of a marketing team’s week. Before AI reshaped all of it, I spent several years running content, search and social for brands across crypto and tech — so I read a traffic report as comfortably as I read a prompt.
What I write about
- Prompt engineering: prompts that get sharper answers, and the loops that write them for you
- AI video: clips that don’t look (or sound) like AI
- AEO and AI search: getting your content cited by ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity
- Vibe coding: from a one-line idea to a shipped app
- AI agents and workflows: letting AI do the busywork so you can do the thinking
Work with me
I take on a small number of freelance projects at a time, usually AI content strategy, AEO and SEO work, or an AI agent build. If that sounds like what you need, grab a free 30-minute call and tell me what you’re working on.
